Maintenance Scheduled (August 24)

Extensive update planned for this Sunday

Our last maintenance L2j update happened on June 28, which means it’s been two months since the last update.

We’ve waited this long to bring you the new update out of a few solid reasons. First, there were a lot of lag bugs in the core in the beginning of the summer, which meant an update would cause more problems than it would solve. These problems have been fixed recently and we expect even better performance. Second, the Gracia update was imminent and we wanted to wait for the new client support before updating the server.

What’s new?

You can visit the Next Maintenance: L2j update milestone on Trac for details about the upcoming update. See the wiki page entry for details about this update.

Mainly this update brings the Gracia client support and the Four Sepulchers implementation. Other than that we’re configuring the server to support Geodata in some locations and we’re also enabling boats. There’s another load of small updates, including updates for skills and quests. You can read more about those on Trac.

Maintenance notes

Please remember to start the client update Saturday night, before the maintenance starts. To start the client update, run LineageII.exe from the main Lineage II folder. Also remember that once you update you should start the game from system/l2.exe so that you won’t accidentally update the client again.

During this maintenance all characters will be teleported to the nearest village. All event data, including Seven Signs, the Olympiad games and the Khrome Mayhem will be preserved (will NOT be lost).

You may discuss this maintenance update on the forum.
